After showing up at a total stranger’s house on Thanksgiving day, the rest of the weekend went relatively smooth! Pierre and I took advantage of work and school free mornings to snuggle up and sleep in. It is currently law school finals season meaning I’ve had to prioritize studying over blogging. I have one more week of class, followed by two weeks of finals. Since law school finals are essentially my entire grade, it’s safe to say I am a little nervous. It has been a long and busy semester. My brain feels legitimately like scrambled eggs! I am so grateful for the long weekend that provided extra time to curl up in my new favorite blanket (so soft) and study.
This year I have so many reasons to be thankful. I don’t know if I have gained perspective or if I am just extra sappy and sentimental but I am so so grateful for where I am at in life right now. When I look back at where I was last November, I am in the exact spot that I was working for and wishing for then. I could go into details but the sake of brevity I’ll just say this: I hope to always recognize the moments I hoped and prayed for while I am living them.
Of course I cannot even articulate my extreme gratitude for my friends, my family, for Jordan and for the privilege to spend the next three-ish years of my life pursuing my J.D. I am so thankful for my health, my sweet puppy, a place to call home, and all of the everyday necessities I take for granted every day (food, water, electricity, etc). Expressing gratitude never fails to humble me and I hope to maintain a spirit of gratitude throughout the years to come.
For the first time EVER I got all of my holiday shopping done by Black Friday. I usually love getting out and about in the craziness come December 18th-24th to hunt for gifts, but I will admit it feels good to be ahead of the curve this year. I did ALL of my Christmas shopping online, and a very large amount on Etsy. I love personalized gifts and I hope my family and friends will too. Now I can focus on studying and then hopefully relaxing and enjoying the Christmas season. Hot chocolate and ice skating anyone? In case you missed it, I have two gift guides live. One gift guide is inspired by my Christmas Wishlist and another is inspiration for gifting your besties. I love throwing together gift guides and seeing what everyone else suggests, it’s so much more fun than scrolling through 100 pages of women’s accessories at Nordstrom know what I mean?
Turn on some Chrismas songs and grab a peppermint mocha to treat yourself this week. The holidays can be so much fun if you just embrace all the little joys that make the season special. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend surrounded by family and friends <3
