I don’t know about your boyfriend, but my boyfriend is the worst to buy gifts for. One time I thought I was being thoughtful by buying him a stupid over priced pair of Ray Ban sunglasses because well, he likes sunglasses. I was SO excited for him to open them, I just knew he would be thrilled, well, spoiler alert, he wasn’t. Good old Jefferson actually asked if he could return them because (actual quote) “there are other things I could do with the money”.
Pretty sure that little gesture goes against all gift giving and receiving rules. And if you’re wondering, since I’m a psycho and was NOT falling for his impolite little shenanigans, he still has the sunglasses (WHICH HE WEARS ALL THE TIME). Which brings me to the topic of Valentine’s Day…I’m just going to flat out say it, Jeff, you’re not getting overpriced sunglasses, you can thank your lucky stars and pray for a Visa gift card. I hate buying gifts for boys but I love buying gifts for friends! It’s like buying a gift for yourself, except you don’t have to feel guilty or selfish!
Zodiac Cuffs (Not really meant to be friendship bracelets but how cute would it be to get one for you and your bestie?)
I’ve always been “Pro Friendship Bracelets”. I’ve made them with twine and ribbon, I’ve bought dozens of varieties from Claire’s and yes, in elementary school I did use the gift of a friendship necklace passive aggressively to make other friends mad. What can I say, girls can be mean. However, as a so called grown up, I can’t exactly rock the My Little Pony friendship necklaces as well as I once could. I am CONSTANTLY on the search for cute “BFF” gifts to show my besties I care. I compiled some of my favorite “Grown Up” friendship themed accessories for Valentine’s Day, a friend’s birthday or really whenever! Unlike love, friendship is great because you can give out multiple friendship necklaces without seeming like a “cheater”. Plus, as an added bonus friendship jewelry makes you look so much more popular.
