Every year Christmas seems to sneak up a tiny bit quicker. Growing up I felt a mixed sensation of excitement and drama surrounding the holidays, however as I’ve settled into adulthood I am just grateful for the time with family and friends. Though I’m on winter break and should theoretically have more time than ever for blogging, I’ve instead filled my days with running errands, baking Christmas cookies, reading and connecting with friends in town for the holidays. Essentially, I am doing everything & anything possible to embrace my time off from school without panicking waiting for my grades, which is fairly pointless as they aren’t released until after break anyway (I loved Brazen & Brunette’s breakdown of the law school grading curve for anyone who doesn’t understand how I can say “I have no idea how I did on my finals”).
I am typing this post as Jordan scurries around the apartment packing for our trip to visit my family for the holidays. This week has flown by in a flurry of peppermint hot chocolate, wrapping paper and chocolate covered peanut butter balls. This week a friend and I got holiday manicures and decorated a gingerbread house, my bestie and I dressed up in holiday dresses for no reason at all (& finished the night off with a pizza in bed of course) and on Thursday I met two of my friends to get our makeup done at Sephora. We all felt so glam in our holiday looks we had to pose for a photo shoot!
I am so ready to celebrate the holidays with my family in California. I have counted down to hugging my cousin Genevieve andI cannot wait to squeeze my little siblings! I feel so grateful that we are able to fly down for an extended Christmas vacation. I’m not sure if I will spend any time blogging for the remainder of 2018 so I want to wish you guys a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! <3
