Hello my darlings! I’m so terribly excited you’re here. I’m Jordyn, and The Fairy Princess Diaries is my little corner of the internet. I’m inspired by the way the sun shines and illuminates the leaves on the trees, the daisies that grow on the side of the highway and a peppermint mocha (or three). As someone who never quite fit into a group or clique my desire to create a space I could be 100% me 100% of the time drove the creation of this site. I’ve been described as “unapologetically myself” and “refreshingly genuine” which I’ve taken as enormous compliments. Over the years I’ve become quite dedicated to truly knowing myself and thus have set out on this crusade (of sorts) to encourage others to know & love themselves as well. When you use your precious time to read about me and my journey I don’t want you to walk away wishing you were more like me (as I’ve found is often the case with many fashion & lifestyle blogs) but rather inspired to embrace the beautiful qualities within yourself.
Carrie Bradshaw reminded us “Don’t forget to fall in love with yourself first” and Aristotle remarked “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom“. I don’t quite know if I should be the girl to correlate a philosopher and a sitcom character but it’s my firm belief that they were both onto something!
I’m a girly-girl who doesn’t mind cartwheeling in her prized rockstuds and prefers to walk rather than drive when I have the luxury to do so. I can’t say I’ll ever outgrow sleepovers with my best friends or stop treating pinky swears as the ultimate allegiance. I majored in History and find learning about new cultures and sociology endlessly fascinating. Despite valiant efforts I can’t french braid and I am always taking applicants for friends who can. I go into full on panic mode when I’m late and find myself just smitten with natural light and fresh flowers. I refuse to live in a world without puppy kisses (directly on the face) and find boys with glasses oh-so dreamy. The glitter and galas of the world enchant me but I like to think I recognize what is truly important in the end. I’m definitely pigeon toed, inarguably have a lisp and have managed to eat an entire pizza to myself more times than I can count. I’m flawed but I think it’s the scars and scratches that make us interesting.
Please feel free to contact me, I absolutely love hearing from readers, discovering new blogs and above all making wonderful blogger friends.
