Once again we’ve made it to the end of the week. Whether you’re getting dressed up and heading out with friends or snuggling up sipping champagne on your couch I hope your weekend is filled with joy. I have been in Calistoga visiting my family for just about a month now and my time is coming to an end. While in some ways it feels like I’ve been here forever (I’ve settled into my routines and what not) I also can’t believe it’s almost time for me to head home already. When I get back to Seattle I have a week to check a lot of items off my to-do list before I start my first day of law school on June 19th. I am so nervous and excited all at the same time.
Before I get flooded with class, study groups and reading assignments I want to set a few goals for the summer. I’m a bit too late to set June goals and while I know summer technically doesn’t begin until June 20th, I don’t mind giving myself a few extra days on my goals.
Summer 2017 Goals & To Dos
1. Adjust my life around law school (settle into a routine for studying, working out, etc).
2. Make a few friends in my program.
3. Have a Beach Day.
4. Discover a new Hike.
5. Host a Dinner Party!
6. Take a Weekend Trip with Friends!
7. Plan a Trip with Jordan in August.
8. Get Professional Photos taken.
9. Get out on the water.
10. Have a beach bonfire with friends & eat s’mores.
11. Go to a Water Park (I’ll be honest, this one is sort of cheating as my little brother and I are headed to a water park today)!
Looking at my list makes me realize how totally boring I am as I swear I make essentially the same summer bucket list every year. What can I say? I know how I like to embrace my favorite season of all. The biggest difference (of course) is that this year I will be preoccupied with law school.
At the beginning of May I told myself I would not buy a single new piece of clothing until I returned to Seattle. Well, I kept making little exception after little exception and let’s just say my informal shopping hiatus was a complete failure. I actually think I spent more money on clothes in the past month than I have in the rest of 2017 combined #fail. My only defense is that I just really, really, really love summer clothes & I had to add a real suit to my business attire for law school. One of the items I don’t feel too guilty about picking up is the cute embroidered choker seen in these photos.
When I found this embroidered choker at a local Calistoga shop (it’s called Rove for anyone in the area) I knew I had to have it. I think an embroidered choker looks great with a maxi dress or even with jeans like I styled it here. There are tons of great embroidered chokers out there for summer and almost all of them are under $20:
