Oof. What a weekend 🙃 Saturday morning started off well enough when Jordan and I walked Pierre to brunch. The rest of the day seemed to spiral downward as the simplest tasks became excessively difficult. Nothing tragic happened it was just one of those days that seemed to be cursed with minor difficulty after minor difficulty after minor difficulty. There were definitely a few times I almost burst into tears but luckily by the end of the day I was able to laugh at the inconvenience of it all. Thankfully my Mom was spending Saturday with me anyways because she was able to help me though the stress. It isn’t often at 25 you need to cry to your Mom in a fit of stress but when you do it helps when she can be there with you in person.
For today’s blog coffee date I’ll be sipping on a venti vanilla latte. I need all the caffeine I can get, so I hope you’ll grab your favorite coffee date treat and join in (:
California Bound: This Friday is my last day working at the law firm. I haven’t shared much about my job here but it has been a really great opportunity to learn more about the legal field in Seattle. My firm has handled a few high profile cases since I’ve been in the office and it has been really riveting to be in on the action. Beyond the excitement I have really great coworkers, I’m talking genuinely good people, so I am sad to say goodbye to the entire office. However, I am excited to be heading to Napa Valley area to spend time with my family for awhile. My little brother Dylan is 9 and my little sister Gigi is 3. I absolutely love spending time with them and I am eager to soak up a bit of their love while they’re still at the phase where I seem cool and fun.
#GirlBoss on Netflix: Believe it or not I wasn’t a huge fan of GirlBoss the book or GirlBoss radio. Don’t get me wrong Sophia Amoruso makes a few really great points but something about her personality feels a little bit contrived and try hard to me. Totally not hating on anyone who loves her, it’s one of those different strokes for different strokes scenarios I think. That being said I watched the first episode of Girlboss on Netflix half expecting to turn it off after ten minutes but I was hooked! I’ve been watching while making dinner every so often and I have really enjoyed it. Have you watched it? If you do let me know what you think.
Nordstrom Wish List: Friday after work I went shopping with a coworker. I was primarily shopping for a Mother’s Day gift (I bought my mom a Swell water bottle and yummy smelling candle) but wanted to purchase a handful of summer dresses. I did a great job of not purchasing any sunshiney frocks but couldn’t escape without these retro feeling platform wedges. I’ll keep dreaming about this yellow off the shoulder dress and this lemon frock!
Anthropologie Sale: You guys must know how much I love Anthro by now right? All of the best pieces in my home are from Anthro and a handful of my favorite dresses came from Anthro as well. While normally Anthro dresses are a bit of a splurge there are currently so many great pieces on sale and for a limited time all sale pieces are an additional 30% off. It took everything in me not to go too crazy but I did pick up this dress for less than $30 and this gorgeous knit dress (so unique).
Iceland Summer 2017: Jordan and I planned a Christmas trip to Europe a year and a half ago but ended up cancelling. I rebooked my ticket and spent 10 days in Paris with my cousin Genevieve but I’ve been dying to get Jordan to Europe since then. Greece, Spain, and The Czech Republic were at the top of my list but we quickly decided all three destinations would be positively miserable with the summer crowds. Jordan mentioned wanting to see Iceland and I am now smitten with the idea. If you have been please please pretty please send me your suggestions. We haven’t booked our flight yet but are serious about planning so I want an insider’s scoop.
Blogging has introduced me to so many wonderful women, I truly wish I could sit down and have a coffee date with each and every one of you in REAL life but for now a virtual chat will have to do.
A coffee date isn’t nearly as fun when I do all the talking, so please comment with your own life updates. What’s your go to coffee shop order? Have you discovered any new shows you reccomend? Where would you travel if you could go anywhere in the world? And of course have you picked up any cute new clothes this month?
I hope your week is off to a great start!
