I interrupt today’s scheduled post for an exciting announcement…I got a new car (well, new to me anyways). I had a meeting most of Saturday morning and well into the afternoon. When Jordan picked me up I expected we were going to head back to our apartment for some much needed unpacking. I was so busy talking about my day that I didn’t notice we were driving in the opposite direction of our apartment. Finally Jordan turned to me and asked “Are you going to ask where we are going?” and it occurred to me that I should. Perhaps attention to small details like where someone is driving me isn’t my strong suit!
“Are we getting lunch? Because I’ve already eaten” I guessed before Jordan reveled he was taking me to test drive a few cars at different car dealerships. I already have a wonderful Toyota Corolla so I wasn’t in the market for a car to begin with. I don’t really consider myself a “car person” and though I enjoy riding in other people’s nice cars I am perfectly pleased in a car that gets me from point A to point B without any problems.I was confused and sort of thought Jordan was trying to prank me for April fool’s day but went along with the idea nonetheless.
We only test drove two cars because Jordan knew what he was looking for. He had a long list of specific requirements and I added that heated seats and a sun/moon roof wouldn’t be bad either. Ultimately Jordan and I were looking for a car that could be my day to day car but would also serve as a great ski car to go to and from the mountains in the winter. We stopped at the Mercedes dealership first and I drove the GLA. The GLA was a nice car no doubt however the BMW X3 won me over at first sight #MajorHeartEyes. I am NOT a car person (have I said that enough, is it embedded in your brain yet?) but even I was wooing over my new car’s perks. Driving just became much more exciting, I couldn’t stop smiling as I drove home from the dealership yesterday. Good news! The whole scheme wasn’t an April Fool’s day joke and no one came to take away my shiny white car today. However, now that I have a squeaky clean car the jokes on me because I feel the pressure to keep it spotless.
It’s a short post today but I had to share my exciting surprise. I’m feeling very spoiled this week and 1000% grateful. How was your weekend, did you stumble upon any happy surprises?
