Thank you guys for your sweet comment on Wednesday’s post for Jordan’s birthday. I know it can be a little confusing when I refer to my boyfriend so to clear up any confusion…yes, my name is Jordyn and my boyfriend’s name is Jordan. It can be equally as confusing in real life (:
The week has flown by! I think having something special in my planner (aka Jordan’s birthday) makes the days go by a little bit faster. For the past few weeks my back and neck have been aching horribly by the end of each day. I primarily notice the pain when I am sitting and hardly notice it at all when running, on the stair machine, etc. Due to the symptoms I assumed the new found pain had to be from sitting all day and the pressure it puts on my lower back. Since I can’t really stop going to work or request a standing desk I decided the best option was to take walks around the office every hour or so. The pain persisted and last night it reached an all time high! I was sitting at Jordan’s birthday dinner and could not help but verbally whine and groan. I’m only 24 but it made me feel like an old woman!
Jordan insisted it was the way I was sleeping that hurt my back though I insisted the sitting was the issue. Still, desperate to alleviate the pain I attempted to sleep on my back with a pillow under my knees as he suggested. When I (inevitably) flipped over to my stomach, I was instructed to place the pillow under my stomach to help support my back and keep it from arching too much (I have a very naturally archy back). To my surprise, I woke up with most of my back and neck pain gone in the morning! After work my neck and back did begin to ache a bit again, however it was much milder than the days prior. Definitely altering the way I sleep from here on out to help control my bouts of pain. Does anyone else have back pain from sitting or sleeping? I stretch and exercise but I want to hear about any solutions that have helped you!
Last weekend I had the opportunity to meet Vancouver based fashion blogger, Bella, for brunch. A coworker mentioned London Plane to me earlier this year and I’ve been obsessed ever since. With a cute little flower shop in front and gorgeous interior decor I knew it would be a great spot to show Bella. Since we both wore bell sleeve dresses we obviously had to capture our #twinning moment with a mini photoshoot. Blogger life, right? Bella’s blog, xoxoBella, is completely adorable! If you don’t follow her fashionable adventures yet be sure to pop over and swoon over her gorgeous photos.
If you can’t tell I love the trend of bell sleeves. Anything with a bit of a seventies/retro vibe makes me smile and the sleeves are no exception! Seventies style is here to stay for fall so don’t say goodbye to fringe, bell bottoms and bell sleeves just yet! My exact dress isn’t available online but I’ve linked a few great bell sleeve options below:
