Hi blog friends! Thank you so much for your comments and advice on Friday’s food diary post. I don’t write about health and fitness all that much so I was relieved that most of you didn’t seem too bored. I am really trying to eat healthier so I may post more food diary posts from time to time. I find your input so helpful and of course keeping a food diary I may share with the blog world helps keep me accountable to eating healthy.
Over the weekend I headed to Lake Chelan, a small vacation town roughly four hours from Seattle. My best friend’s family has a time share at a resort in Chelan and every year since high school I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Usually enough friends want to come that we are forced to camp rather than stay inside the condo. Though I’m not the biggest fan of sleeping on gravel I can suck it up for a weekend with friends in the sunshine. With champagne, good company and a scenic view what do sleeping conditions even matter?
This year I felt so nostalgic. It seemed that everywhere we walked, ate or swam I had memories with Nicole. When you make so many memories in a town it obviously holds a special place in your heart. In total there were seven of us. We played games, sunbathed, jet-skied and went wine tasting. A few people even skinny dipped in the lake at night…it was far too cold and windy for me to partake but it was fun cheering on my more adventurous friends.
Of course I couldn’t leave Chelan without grabbing a delicious veggie burger (or two) at an inexpensive little burger joint on the side of the road. I am usually pretty particular when it comes to veggie burgers but for some reason the Lakeside burgers are so drool worthy, I couldn’t help but grab a veggie burger and fries Friday and Saturday.
We returned early on Sunday leaving most of the day for adventuring with Jordan. He couldn’t come to Chelan so it was nice to spend the day running errands with him and playing with Pierre at the dog park.
The week is off to a wonderful start. The sun is shining and I’m beginning to believe summer is (finally) beginning here in Seattle.
