The space between last Thursday and now has been overflowing with experience. New people, new places, new books! Hot summer weather is upon us meaning I choose to spend every spare moment I have outdoors (except for the evening when Jordan and I made Gameworks our home). Speaking of Gameworks, I’ve never been before this weekend, not as an adult at least. I was expecting to go and play Mario to appease my non video game playing boyfriend whom I was surprised wanted to attend in the first place. Instead I ended up obsessing over the arcade style games…and actually having a really good time. In fact, Jordan and I had such a good time knocking down clown faces with little plastic balls and tossing baskets that we unanimously agreed to return to Gameworks the next night. So yes, I spent both Friday and Saturday night at Gameworks. My little brothers wouldn’t believe it if you told them, I’m far too uncool (;
Outside of discovering a love of throwing balls into holes I did spend a great deal of time outdoors. Jogging, walking Pierre around Greenlake, wandering around Alki Beach and getting lost on a woodland trail (in the middle of the city no less). I even made time to stop by the cutest little garden (pictured here). The Belltown pea patch is in the middle of downtown Seattle. I’ve passed the garden countless times and thought to myself “I want to go in there one day”. It isn’t anything showy, just a space for city dwellers to find solace in a bit of greenery. I truly love the juxtaposition of a lush, verdant garden among the skyscrapers and concrete.
I almost never wear my hair up, partially because I’m bad at being a girl and it’s easier to wear it down and partially because I like the look of long, soft waves. This weekend was so warm the thought of wearing it down even with a breezy tank top and short-shorts felt stuffy and stifling! I opted for a braided side bun to keep me cool and maintain an effortless boho vibe with my look.
What are your favorite hot weather hairstyles? Do share (and teach me how to have fabulous hair while you’re at it)!
