Happy June 1st! I don’t know about you but I am totally sitting at my desk with my mind completely in a jumble because I can’t figure out how on earth it’s already the first month of summer. I love everything about summer and this summer I have so much to celebrate.
I didn’t set New Year’s resolutions this year but I have made a point of setting monthly goals for myself to keep me on track and working towards both long term and short term goals. I’m not always perfect at completing them but just knowing I have goals written out keeps me more accountable.
One| Thrive at my new Job!
My goal in May was to find my dream job (not a lofty expedition at all…) and I am happy to announce I am starting the month off with a brand new role at a local fashion company. I’ll share more details once I am settled but for now just know I am thrilled to accept this new opportunity. My goal for this month is to start strong, absorb all new company info like a sponge and begin my position with intention.
Two| Track my Workouts
When it comes to working out I am super sporadic. I try to run, go to the gym and hike with the occasional barre or pilates class thrown in as well. However, I have no real workout schedule-I do whatever I want whenever I want. I love the mental health benefits of working out consistently (especially running). This month I want to track my workouts so I can see where I’m at and where I need to push myself to improve. If you have any tips or apps for fitness tracking I would love to hear your suggestions and advice.
Three| Incorporate veggies into every Meal
The moment I tell people I am a vegetarian it is usually accompanied with the reaction “oh so you must be really healthy” to which I think and ocassionaly state “Pasta and ice cream are still vegetarian!”. In other words, I don’t just eat quinoa, steamed veggies and kale salads, I eat a whole lot of Ben & Jerry’s, venti mochas and tortellini too! I’m not trying to lose weight but I don’t think it hurts to strive for more greens. This month I’m looking to incorporate greens into EVERY meal. Realistically I know I’ll miss a meal here and there but I think keeping this goal in mind will force me to eat healthier nonetheless.
Four| Meet with fellow Seattle Bloggers
I’m pretty bad when it comes to meeting new people. Though most of my friends and family are surprised when I refer to myself as an introvert (because I’m bubbly, and nice), I dread big group parties filled with strangers. That being said I know to be part of fashion (or really any industry) I need to improve my networking skills. This past month I attended a blogger event and I realized I want to become more involved in the Seattle blogging community. Coincidentally, I was asked to plan a small blogger meet up so I am hoping this event will force me to become more comfortable and confident meeting strangers in a group setting. #IntrovertingProbs
Five| Wear Sunscreen Daily
As simple as it is to put sunscreen on my body each morning, I often forget everything but my face. For the month of June I’m focusing on applying sunscreen all over. Healthy skin is a big deal. Not only do I want to avoid wrinkles and age spots but ultimately protect myself from skin cancer.
Have you set any goals for June? I would love to hear about what you want to do this month.
P.S. If any of you know a fabulous WordPress expert I need a little help with a technological issue on the back end of my site. I’ve done a bit of research and can’t seem to fix it myself. I am obviously willing to pay said expert for his/her time, I just need someone reliable who won’t further destroy my blog. Thank you! <3
