Hello friends! I’ve fallen out of my usual blogging routine for a variety of reasons this week (both good in bad). Not only have I been absorbed in packing and planning my trip to Paris, but I’ve had to tie up a few loose ends at work and home before heading on vacation. Unfortunately the week hasn’t been all happiness and pre-Paris butterflies, I’m taking a little time to reflect before discussing in this space, but I had a confrontation with a friend that is most likely the end of our friendship. I do not take pleasure in letting go of people, nor in saying things that can hurt another person, however I do think there is a time when you need to be honest, and sometimes being completely honest means saying goodbye to a friendship. I DO want to discuss losing friendships and moral responsibilities as a friend in the near future because I think it is important to be authentic and discuss real feelings and real issues. However, at this point I need to give myself a little time to work through some negative feelings so I can write without any tinge of anger or resentment.
Woot! Let’s move on to the happy? I’ve been loving a few fabulous new products this month. Can you believe we’re half way through April?!
Monat Shampoo & Hair Masque| Meagan from Because of Jackie sent me a few samples of the miracle shampoo and conditioner she has been raving about. I had read a few of Meagan’s posts about Monat and I was definitely curious what all of the raving reviews were about and how they would translate to my hair. Hairstylists generally tell me I have a lot of thin hair. My hair is fine and plentiful meaning it can be SUPER tangly and often very dead and dry at the ends. I sampled the Revive Shampoo and Replenish Masque.
The Monat treatment is a little unlike the traditional shampoo most of us are used to. I first washed my hair with the Monat Revive, allowed the shampoo to sit for 2-3 minutes and then rewashed using the same process one more time. I could tell when I rinsed the second application out my hair that my hair was completely clean from buildup and residue, it had a certain “squeaky clean” feeling I’m not entirely used to.
Next I used the Replenish Masque leaving the treatment in my locks for a full ten minutes. When I rinsed out the mask I knew my hair was going to look stunning dry! Usually my hair craves moisture and this mask seemed to give my dead ends exactly what they’ve been begging me for for so long.
I blow dried and curled my hair as usual without adding any additional products. I think it’s safe to say Monat is giving me a totally wonderful hair day. I am definitely interested in choosing Monat as my regular hair care staple. If you are interested feel free to reach out to Meagan (she’s a Monat expert) and purchase directly from her. I worked at a hair salon in high school and thus have tried a wide array of shampoos and conditioners. Honestly, most shampoo doesn’t impress me! I love Pureology but it is expensive! Monat is way up there with my favorites and is definitely worth considering if you want Blake Lively like hair too! (:

Rocksbox| A little late to the party, I just joined Rocksbox last month. I was unsure what to expect but definitely excited to unveil my first box. My first Roxsbox set contained a gorgeous Perry Street Necklace, Kendra Scott earrings and a ring. I loved both the earrings and the necklace so much I had to keep them. I am super excited to see what my Rocksbox stylist sends my way for the next month, I’m allowing myself to keep a piece from each set guilt free if I love it because I totally need an update in the jewelry department.
If you want to try Rocksbox out for yourself you can use the code “fairyprincessjordxoxo” for a free month!
Madewell’s Spring Collection| Yesterday was my day off which meant packing for Paris, cleaning my apartment and running errands all over town. I swung into University Village on impulse and couldn’t resist all of the chic spring pieces at Madewell. I grabbed an off the shoulder top, striped peplum tee, blush long sleeve tee, ripped black skinny jeans and a basic striped dress. I justified it because I have to look chic in the fashion capitol of the world right?! Perhaps it was a little much, still I am excited to style these new basics on my trip and after.
