The first day of Spring left much to be desired in Seattle at least. It was overcast and chilly but the very idea that brighter days are on the horizon was enough to make me skip and cartwheel. The weekend was a whirlwind. Friday night I grabbed dinner and headed out with my bestie after work before heading out to dawn black lipstick and converse with strangers who were strangely obsessed with zodiac.
Saturday morning my alarm dragged me out of bed at 5:00am for a hike and photo shoot at a popular spot about an hour away from Seattle. Jordan and I sipped coffee while Pierre scarfed down his “Puppicino” on the way to Rattlesnake Ridge, when we arrived the sun was just rising and coffee was flowing through my veins. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get strange looks hiking up the peak in a Free People dress and running shoes, lugging a giant Vera Bradley duffle full of clothes all the way. The photographer kept joking with me as he heard the other hikers mutter under their breaths. I get it, I looked crazy! I can’t wait to share more of the photos we captured with you once their edited and released by the photographer. Feel free to check out my SnapChat (fairyprincessj) for a sneak peek.
Now, on to mint! I picked up these super happy pair of Kate Spade jeans a couple years ago. I love pairing them with bright tops or neutrals for Spring and Summer. The trench coat is a necessary piece for Spring in Seattle. With random bouts of rain throughout the day I love using this Juicy Couture trench to stay dry and look chic (although it could use a nice steam or iron). Finally have you seen my new Chiara booties? I know I’ve been raving about them all over social media. I’m obsessed! I can’t help but feel like a butterfly or Victoria’s Secret angel when I slip them on. Though I love all of the Sophia Webster chiara heels I felt like the boots were the most versatile and when purchasing a pair of splurge shoes I always aim for the pair that will give me the most wear.
I can see myself re-wearing this look on days off shopping, running errands with Jordan, meeting in coffee shops or grabbing lunch with a friend. Though many of the pieces are older, you can recreate the look with a simple trench, statement denim, fabulous booties and your favorite white tee.
