I shared the first half of our shoot with Melissa Shaw Photography on Tuesday. We started in Pike Place Market then headed to Lincoln Park in West Seattle for a more boho inspired look. I picked up this embroidered dress, a cute layered necklace from American Eagle and threw on one of my favorite pairs of booties for a free spirited vibe. To add a little structure and touch of edginess I grabbed my leather jacket I picked up on the streets of Florence a few summers back.
Shooting with Pierre was by far the most difficult part. He’s a puppy so naturally all he wanted to do at the park was run and play! He didn’t understand the concept of posing for a photo and getting him to hold still even for an instant proved difficult. You may notice he’s a bit mangy in these photos. We had just taken his cone off from surgery a few days prior and he wasn’t yet allowed to take a bath or go to the groomer. I still think he is adorable with his wild mane, but he is much more well groomed now that he’s allowed to bathe!
I adore these forest shots. I really associate love with nature and find settings like this one at Lincoln park oh-so romantic. Though I don’t love Twilight (says the girl who read all the books the night they came out) I did love the forest wedding scene. The idea of a woodsy wedding in Washington makes my heart skip a beat, it’s so whimsical and dreamy. This summer my Mom is getting married in a forest and I know the photos will be just jaw dropping.
At one point I had the fabulous idea to stick a fern in my hair, I thought it would be boho chic perfection. Jordan was laughing at me through the shots so I knew I had to look like a total dork. Sweet Melissa totally went along with my idea, though to be fair I really did look like a dork. Oh well!
Melissa did a wonderful job working with Jordan and I. I’m happy I could share a few of the many photos she delivered to document the Jordan & Jordyn love story. To anyone looking for a photographer in the greater Seattle area I definitely recommend Melissa Shaw.
I hope I didn’t make you guys too crazy with an overload of lovey dovey photos. I’m sure to keep posting these photos on Instagram for the next week or so, I can’t help it, I’m obsessed!
