It’s the last day of March and personally I could not be any more excited for April. I absoloutely love spring but my favorite season of all is summer. As the days get longer and sunnier I feel so happy I could cartwheel (and honestly I often do)! In just two weeks I will be leaving for Paris and finally reunited with my favorite cousin in the city of love and light. I know April is going to be a month to remember.
I have to admit, March wasn’t so bad either. Today I want to share a few of my favorite things fro this winter to spring transitional month.
Fresh Faced for Spring| My Mom and I had our makeup done just for fun as a random girl date a few weeks ago. Lancome was celebrating their “Spring in Paris” line and I knew I had to participate because…hello! I’m spending Spring in Paris! I didn’t actually purchase anything from the Spring in Paris line but I did find a few new makeup favorites I highly recommend. I really like the Rose Cashmere blush and the Bienfait Teinte bb creme but I can’t rave enough about the Rouge in love lipstick in #232 “Rose Mantic”. It’s the perfect natural shade of pink that makes it great for everyday wear. While I do like fun makeup for the most part I look for natural shades to incorporate into my everyday looks, this lipstick is great for work, a date or anything in between.
Orange is the New Black (the book)| Earlier this year Jordan and I became addicted to Orange is the New Black on Netflix. I picked up the book back in October and quickly forgot about it. I just started reading it a couple days ago and I was hooked. I remember how much I loved the television series and as always the book was better. I definitely found the insight into the U.S. incarceration system enlightening. Being a super goody goody I’ve always envisioned prison as a space for murderers and rapists, I never thought about the non violent crimes and the high incarceration rates due to the war on drugs. I can’t say I have an answer to the United States’ prison issue but I can say my vision on prison has changed forever!
Girls’ Nights in the City|This month I had so much fun experiencing random girls’ nights out with friends. From a casual night out on St.Patrick’s day with my friend Claire, to dressing up with our best “bad girl” attire with my bestie Nicole, I am so thankful for great friends and an abundance of champagne.
Girls’ Nights In| Perhaps the only thing better than a fabulous night out with friends is an equally fabulous night in. My sorority Little and I had a sleepover complete with pizza and mimosas. Though I am technically a grown up who lives with her boyfriend I am a firm believer that one cannot outgrow the magic of a sleepover.
Portlandia| After finally finishing Gilmore Girls on Netflix Jordan and I hopped on the Portlandia bandwagon. I had no idea what to expect from the show but I am obsessed. We’re already on the fifth season and have really enjoyed laughing at the Portland stereotypes, some of which also apply to Seattle.
Spring Attire| I have been attempting to avoid shopping as much as possible this month. I did splurge on a pair of cute flats from coach and Jordan treated me to a few cute pieces from a boutique in Astoria as an Easter gift. Remaining abstinent from shopping is a challenge but I know cutting back will pay off in a few weeks when I am in Paris. Send anti-shopping vibes my way pretty please!
Do you have any favorites from the month of March? What are you looking forward to in April?
