I have to say, having a random Tuesday off is quite the way to fend off the midweek blues. I spent yesterday morning leisurely strolling through the Nordstrom shoe department and finally pulling the trigger on these funky Topshop booties. Booties are SO the way to go as there is no way I could spend an entire work day in heels (ouch) but I still love stomping around like I’m actually 5’10” (let’s keep the delusional dream of becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel alive a little longer shall we?). I know the affordable option from Topshop will become a staple in my weekly shoe rotation. I think I’m slowly reaching the point where all I wear is boots or booties #SorryNotSorry.
The Topshop bodysuit I’m wearing is bound to become another obsession. While I obviously won’t be wearing it on the daily like a great pair of boots it definitely feels like a seasonal basic for spring and summer. Bodysuits make me happy, they remind me of when I was the kid in gymnastics class who always wanted to jump in the giant foam pit instead of working to perfect my wolf jumps and analyzing why anyone would be crazy enough to try and do cartwheels and front tucks on the beam (before attempting and failing). Bodysuits add major va-va-voom curves when paired with denim or a high waisted skirt.
Speaking of va-va-voom, the sun continues to shine here in Seattle and I can’t help but feel like a real life Disney Princess because of it. Seattle is the most gorgeous city and the beauty of the puget sound, mountains and greenery truly shows when the sun shines. I had no issue frolicking about outdoors with Kirstie before meeting up with my bestie for a jog around Greenlake. When the weather is nice I honestly can’t stand the thought of being inside, it simply tears about my soul and erodes my being. Growing up in Seattle has caused me to worship the sun! If I ever move to a somewhere the magical sun bursts through the clouds more often (hey California), I can’t imagine my poor heart could cope with all the excitement. I have anxiety about wasting the sunshine, perhaps if it was sunny every day I would adjust?
In other news I officially booked my trip to Paris for the spring. My ticket is purchased and now my cousin and I are looking into planning our itinerary for the 9 days we are visiting. As I speak absoloutely no french I am planning on my french speaking cousin to keep us from making any tragic mistakes, but then again I also trusted her to teach me to ice skate with her figure skating background and I still can’t do an arabesque spin. Despite Genevieve’s failures (hehe) I could not be more excited to rekindle our love in the city of light and love. I’m so over the moon ecstatic that I’ve already created our official hashtag, #Gen&JordTakeParis. Feel free to use it whenever you feel it’s appropriate (;
In all seriousness, world travelers, I need your Paris tips! What do I need to see? Eat? Drink? Where is the best shopping? On second thought, don’t tell me that last one, my AMEX can’t handle it.
