Though my Valentine’s day weekend didn’t include any major surprises or grand romantic gestures the entire weekend from Friday night to Sunday as I drifted off to sleep next to Jordan as he watched The Walking Dead was filled with happiness.
Friday night began with my best friend’s Valentine’s Day themed “Seven Deadly Sins” party where I repurposed my Designer Intimates piece as a costume for “lust”. I spent all week brainstorming for my party costume while Jordan pulled his “gluttony” outfit together in the car on the way to the party and looked way more themed than I did…isn’t that always the case?
Saturday we woke up and grabbed brunch at a quaint spot in Ballard called Brunswick & Hunt. I had two mimosas and unlimited coffee so I called the morning a success.
Jordan and I unintentionally matched which made for a sweet photo outside the restaurant no?
After a leisurely afternoon spent walking Pierre in the rain and finishing up a few projects for my online classes we headed to pho to meet Caroline and her sweet friend Leah for dinner. I was so happy to see Caroline’s sunshine-y face again and hear all about her adventures in Seattle so far.
Caroline is one of the sweetest, most genuine people I’ve met from the blogging community so far. Even when Jordan embarrassed me by making politically incorrect jokes (none of which reflect my views whatsoever) she smiled and nodded like the polite little darling she is. Can I get a weekend vacay to visit her in San Francisco again please?!
Sunday morning Jordan and I headed up to Steven’s Pass to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the snow. Failing to check the weather before we drove two hours we showed up to discover it was pouring rain and the mountain was virtually covered in slush. Determined to make the best of it we conquered a handful of runs before calling it quits when I started pouring puddles out of my gloves.
After a hot shower and change of clothes we opted to see DeadPool. For those of you who watched the movie this weekend, thoughts? I’m not an action movie person (at all) but the movie was comedic enough to keep me entertained, plus I knew I would score major cool points with my eight year old brother if I could talk about the latest superhero film.
How was your weekend? What were the highlights?
