Happy Wednesday friends! Yesterday I grabbed a late brunch, followed by coffee and a walk with my sorority little. I love that we are in the same city post graduation but honestly we don’t see each other nearly enough. Prioritizing my time so I can make time for the friends that really matter is definitely something I am working on (I think it plays into my single resolution for 2016). Every so often I like to create a virtual coffee date for my favorite blog friends and I. I wish I could know so many of you in real life, but at this point a virtual coffee date will have to do. Sit back, throw on some acoustic pop covers, sip on your favorite caffeinated beverage and let’s catch up, shall we?
I’m looking into new gyms and workout routines for the coming month(s). In the past I’ve run and occasionally hit the gym but due to a few complications with my LA Fitness membership I will no longer be continuing the service. Now I can’t decide if I want to rejoin another gym, grab a package of classes at my local barre studio or workout in another way entirely. My favorite way to sweat is definitely by running, but I do find if I rely on running alone I get seriously bored. What is your favorite workout? What method of staying motivated works for you? I definitely have found working out with a friend to be the most effective.
The Bachelor…guys, I’m watching and the only girls I like at all are Jubilee and Olivia (oh and Caila but only because her hair is so pretty). I can’t help but feel like Lauren and Becca (seemingly the fan favorites) have absoloutely no personality. I get that Becca has that sweet, virginal, hometown vibe but can’t you be a virgin without being painfully boring. Maybe it’s the way the producers edit the show but I swear these girls seem about as interesting as speaking to a lamp. Ben doesn’t seem much better, no wonder Kaitlyn didn’t choose him, he’s boring too! What are your thoughts? Am I being too harsh?
Speaking of love and “happily ever afters”, Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. Jordan grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness and didn’t really celebrate holidays, even though he no longer embodies the same faith of his childhood it is fairly apparent he isn’t naturally inclined to make a big deal out of holidays. He’s placated my wishes for Halloween (I even forced him to celeberate “Halloweek”) and Christmas but I can tell he isn’t all that excited about Valentine’s Day. To be honest I’ve always been fairly neutral on Valentine’s Day but last year on Valentine’s Day was the first time Jordan and I said “I love you” to one another and now I’m sort of obsessed with the romance of the holiday. I’m super sentimental, okay?! I’m thinking about a low key evening at home just the two of us rather than facing the crowds at romantic restaurants…do any of you have ideas on how to create a romantic (and fun) at home Valentine’s Day celebration? I would love to hear your ideas!
My venti mocha is definitely gone at this point and I’m feeling slightly manic. I have a confession to make…the laundry situation at my apartment is currently OUT OF CONTROL. Jordan has maybe done laundry five times in his entire life and I have yet to see him wash a single load since moving into our apartment together in April. I’m not complaining because he does lots of other chores I have no interest in completing (ie. cleaning the bathtub, toilet, the inside of my car) but our entire second bedroom is currently serving as a dirty laundry dumping ground. We’re in agreement, something has to be done. Today Jordan bribed me to complete all the laundry by next Tuesday by offering to buy me one of the Anthro bed spreads I’ve been eyeing. I’m not above taking bribes, especially when they’re offered in exchange for household chores I was planning to complete anyway. Now the big question is which new bed spread should I choose?! My top three choices currently are the Tahla Quilt, the Ponsonby Bedding and the Kilele Printed Duvet (for some reason Jordan hates duvets though but I’m still deciding if I find this hatred valid in my decision making process). I have as long as it takes me to do the laundry to decide…do you have a favorite? Can’t I have them all?
What would you share with me at our coffee date? What has been on your mind recently? What is your drink order of choice?
