My birthday is coming up in a few weeks, and while I’m not doing anything too crazy this year I still love any excuse to shop for a new outfit. This year I’m having a dinner party; I want a dress that is fun but doesn’t look too much like I am going out to the club. This season sixties and seventies inspiration can be found everywhere. I love the retro vibe of sixties and seventies inspired pieces and would definitely like to channel a bit of that inspiration in my birthday dress.
Ted Baker Yanka Pussybow Dress: I love the retro vibe of this dress. It’s conservative enough to work well for a night out, a dinner party or with a pair of tights and boots for work.
Glamorous Gold Tunic Dress: Glam meets boho in the dress that screams celebration! There is certainly no mistaking the birthday girl in this fabulous sparkly piece.
ASOS Khaki Embellished Mini Body Con: The perfect mix of gypsy-inspired and party appropriate, this dress is filled with gorgeous detail. This unique piece is one of my favorites but sadly is sold out for now.
Wildest Dreams Lace Tunic: This girly tunic works great as a party dress or with denim for a daytime look. It comes a variety of colors all so gorgeous it is difficult to choose a favorite!
Sparkler Mini Dress: This option from Free People is sure to be worn on repeat for parties to come. I adore the simple straps and the endless options for dressing this piece up or down.
Burgundy Poppy Floral Neck Tie Dress: Mod Supermodel alert! How could you not feel just like Twiggy in this perfect nod to the 60s? Obsessing over the pattern and cut of this dress.
Go for Baroque Bell Sleeve Mini Dress: This dress is a little eccentric for my day to day style but I think it would be so fun for a special occasion. I’ve been obsessed with the television show Reign lately and this dress makes my inner history nerd smile.
Ecote Mini Wrap Dress: Not only is this dress totally on sale but it is sure to blend seamlessly from dinner to drinks to an after party. I love all three fun patterns this dress comes in, how do I choose just one?
