It’s officially the last day of September. Though I love October (my favorite month!), I can’t help but feel like September flew by way too fast. At this rate I’m going to blink and be on a plane to Paris for Christmas…yee!
If I was a super organized blogger who could stick to schedules and editorial calendars I would post monthly favorites every month. Sadly, I am the blogger whose brain refuses to stick to a schedule so I can’t guarantee I’ll be posting a list of favorites anytime soon (my last list was actually last September…). Take a look at my favorites throughout the month and let me know what you’ve been loving this September!
Blanket Scarves| I know I’m late on this trend but now that I have a blanket scarf can I officially sit with the cool kids? I picked up a black & gray blanket scarf from Target and I’ve been wearing it pretty much non stop since. I want a blue and green blanket scarf next.
My Bestie’s Birthday| My best friend turned 23 on September 23rd. For her golden birthday she invited a bunch of friends in a limo for wine tasting. After wine tasting and binge eating Mexican food all day, we took a little siesta before heading out that night. After sleeping off the wine we spent the evening on Capitol Hill where my bestie rented out the top floor of a bar called Barca. It was such a special celebration. Happy 23rd Birthday Nicole!
Orange is the new Black| I finally broke down and started watching Orange is the New Black on Netflix, needless to say I am OBSESSED. Jordan and I are already on season 3 and I have so many questions about prison. Until watching OITNB I’ve honestly never thought about the institution of prison, now I can’t stop thinking about the sociology and psychology of prison/prisoners. Check my google search history and you’ll find I’ve been googling “prison psychological studies” and “prison experiments”. If you haven’t started watching Orange is the new Black yet I pinky promise you won’t regret it.
Reading Everybody Writes| I just finished Ann Hadley’s “Everybody Writes” on Monday night. The book is a great read for anyone working in marketing or any type of content writing. Hadley offers basic writing tips, resources for writers, “How-Tos” for content such as landing pages, blog posts, etc and general best practices for writers. Ann Hadley has a great voice and an aptitude for weaving Disney references into every chapter, she made reading about grammar rules and social media practices ridiculously interesting. I know I will be flipping through this book in the future for guidelines and tips. Plus, don’t the glasses on the cover make you think of this Kate Spade bangle and this Kate Spade ring? I want both by the way.
Wedding Dress Shopping| My Mom is getting married next July! This month she invited me to help her pick out the perfect wedding dress. We spent an entire weekend wedding dress shopping, it was such a blast! Though she hasn’t said “yes to the dress” quite yet, she has narrowed it down to two dresses. I am so happy for my Mom and really enjoyed being part of the selection process.
Dominoes| I love playing games, seriously give me a bottle of champagne and a game closet and I’ll be satisfied for an entire weekend, throw in some ice cream and I might just die of happiness. Jordan taught me Dominoes at the beginning of the month and we’ve been playing almost every evening we’re together. Not trying to brag but…I win practically every time (;
How was your September my darling little Pumpkin Spice Lattes? Are you looking forward to October as much as I am?
