Over the weekend I had the pleasure of venturing to Los Angeles and adventuring with Jordan and my Aunt and Uncle. Jordan and I arrived in Los Angeles Friday morning but unfortunately were both a bit sick (Jordan more so). We spent a few hours in bed eating room service before venturing out to enjoy LA so we wouldn’t feel like the losers who spent an entire day of their vacation in the hotel room. We spent a leisurely afternoon shopping at The Grove, carb loaded with a delicious Italian dinner and watched the new Avengers movie. It’s obviously true love because not only am I willing to go see a movie with Jordan (an activity I normally hate) but I am even willing to see a super hero movie. When my Aunt and Uncle heard the news they were both shocked by my clear commitment to love. It’s the little things my friends (;
Saturday we scampered around California Adventure like happy little tourists. My Uncle is terrified of roller coasters and sort of had a mental breakdown on the California Screamin’ (my favorite ride)! Jordan and I tried not to laugh as he shouted profanities from the row behind us for the entirety of the 120 second long thrill ride but really couldn’t contain ourselves. At the end of the day some people just aren’t made for roller coasters I presume.
My Aunt and I ran the Tinkerbell Half Marathon in Disneyland Sunday morning and though neither of us trained (#Fail) the run went surprisingly well and we both really enjoyed ourselves. I ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon a few years ago (it was my first half) and was so delighted with the whole event I couldn’t wait to run another Disney race. The Tinkerbell half was completely magical; I would highly recommend the race to any one who is a little bit of a Fairy Princess at heart. My favorite part of Disney races is the entertainment factor-even when you are underprepared the race flies by because there are so many characters, bands, cheerleaders and decorations along the route. I’m a bit sore but the race certainly motivated me to get back into the running schedule I stuck to strictly all fall. It’s still my goal to run 12 races this year! We spent the remainder of the day Sunday poolside before drifting off to sleep around 9:00pm. A race with a 5:30am start time really wears you out!
Finally Monday morning we spent a few hours at Disneyland before rushing to catch our afternoon flight in Los Angeles. It was much less crowded than over the weekend so we were actually able to squeeze in a fair number of rides (and of course a chocolate covered banana break for me!). My Disney weekend was oh-so magical but what I enjoyed most was the time with my family and cute little friend-boy. I am grateful I had such splendid company to share my time with #CheesyButTrue.
How did you spend your weekend pretty little pixies?
P.S. For whatever reason Bloglovin is NOT updating with my latest posts. I’m working on figuring out the details but if anyone can offer any insight surrounding locating a blog’s RSS feed I would greatly appreciate it. I am so clueless when it comes to the back end of blogging, it’s actually embarrassing!
