Rompers are one of those funny trends for me. On one hand I love them and want as many as I can get but on the other hand I sort of just look at them and giggle a little because they look like giant play suits for toddlers. When rompers first started becoming a trend (my senior year of high school I believe) I remember making fun of them with my best friend Laura. We would walk into Forever 21 and scoff at all the rompers. We did that whole “Oh my GOD you need this” phony act that friends do to each other when they see the ugliest item in the store and pretend that they love it for the other person (I’m not the only one that loves this game right?!). As per usual I gave into fashion and rompers started to grow on me (just like fur vests which I also initially loathed) and I bought into the romper trend with a simple black romper from American Apparel. It was cotton so it was SO comfortable but it could easily be dressed up with jewelry and wedges…to be honest I felt a bit like Beyoncé when I wore it (not to mention it made my booty look outrageous).
After a wild karaoke girls’ night involving too much tequila and tree climbing last summer I mysteriously stained my favorite basic and had to throw it out. I’m always keeping it classy. I’m determined to acquire a few more little playsuits before the weather warms up but I’m also determined not to spend a fortune. Sorry I’m not sorry but for some reason spending $200 on a floral romper seems like just about the silliest waste of money short of throwing out your diamond Tiffany’s key necklace. Yet, there is something so right about a lazy summer day spent skipping around in a romper, a cute pair of wedges and a hair bow #FiveAtHeart. Can’t you imagine picnicking in this one from Jack Wills. I need these for the garden conservatory tea party I’m planning and then I need a mansion with a conservatory and preferably Taylor Swift’s phone number so I can invite her. I don’t know I just feel like it’s the sort of thing she would be into.
Have you found the perfect romper? If so PLEASE share, if not I’ll settle for Taylor’s personal cell phone number.
Happy Wednesday Romping my little Cuties!
