Life lately has been a bit of a whirlwind (have I overstated that enough?). If you’re new around here you might not realize I’m generally a social recluse. I’m fairly introverted and while I do go stir crazy if I am cooped up alone too often I highly value alone time to just be “in my head“. The quality time with my own thoughts has been seriously lacking recently and while I am head over heels in love with the projects I have taken on (4 photo shoots this week, planning a road trip for next week, blogging, dating and you know a full time job) my mind is spinning. I would rather be busy than bored but this whole scheduling time in my planner to paint my nails and apply a face mask has really taken the whole “I am very busy right now” to a whole new level. I promise I am not complaining though! I am inspired and it is exhilarating…just don’t be surprised if my brain seems like it’s scattered in five thousand pieces (because it is).
All of this photo shoot business has had me visually awakened and inspired. Just before bed or while in line at Starbucks I’ve found myself so drawn to Pinterest (even though I’m not usually a fan) scouring for gorgeous photos. In junior high and high school I was obsessed with fashion magazines, I spent hours going through hundreds of magazines and pinning my favorite images to a wall in my bedroom. My magazine clipping wall would probably be too cluttered for my taste now but at the time it was actually pretty artsy and fun (or so I like to think). I like looking at pretty and interesting photos!
Speaking of things I like to look at let’s talk about my favorite Victoria’s Secret Angel. Does anyone else just drool whenever they look at photos of Candice Swanepoel? HOW IS SHE SO PERFECT?! She is actually like a real life goddess and I can’t stop gawking at her. Seriously just look up her name on Pinterest (or worst yet google) and get drawn down the rabbit hole of her perfection. I’m not slightly in love with her or anything.
None of these photos are my own (clearly) but I thought I would share a bit of my visual inspiration. Don’t you just want to recreate these gorgeous editorials (imagine wearing some of these clothes #swoon)?
Who else is ready to quit real life with me and live in whatever whimsical editorial dream world these photographs are based off of?
