I get the feeling you’ve been asking yourself lately “Oh Jordyn…what does she do to keep her skin so fabulous and perfect?”. I mean I practically radiate fairy dust and sunshine, the lady doing my makeup at Sephora on Saturday told me so. Or maybe she just said “You have lovely skin, which products do you use?”…I don’t quite remember the exact verb-age. While I can’t quite brag that I have great skin (see my most recent skin woes) I can brag that I have a super simple and super effective skin care routine. I am a Kate Somerville addict, and Kate Somerville has give me absoloutely zero free products to say that (unfortunately).
Although Kate is on the pricer side when it comes to skin care (for my budget at least) I honestly believe the products are worth EVERY penny (which is why I shelled out roughly 20% more than the norm for Kate Somerville last weekend when my moisturizer ran out…good old Canada, home over the ridiculously overpriced face lotion). I used to just slather whatever on my face because honestly I just figured it must be better than nothing. I used Clinique and couldn’t complain. I used Burt’s Bees and couldn’t complain. I used the Sephora brand and couldn’t complain.
However, My Aunt introduced me to Kate Somerville in the Spring and I am FOREVER changed. My skin is softer, smoother and honestly just feels like it is glowing. To use proper skin care jargon…it feels “radiant” which is something my skin had never felt before. I used to dread washing my face before bed (because I am a disgusting human) and now washing my face and applying serum and moisturizer excites me (and not just because I have no life). Plus it’s easy, sure there are fab Kate Somerville eye creams, and anti aging remedies and whatnot but I like to keep it simple before I’ve had my morning Starbucks so my routine goes a little like this:
1. Cleanse with Purify Cleanser.
2. Apply Quench Serum, allow to dry naturally.
3. Apply Goat Milk Cream moisturizer.
Voila! Your skin will be radiant and glowing all day long.
I have to tell you I have no idea how beauty bloggers do it. I felt like such a spaz asking my cousin to take pictures of me washing my face. Then there were the pictures…I had no idea I could make something as simple as putting lotion on my forehead look so incredibly awkward and…uncomfortable. It’s a superpower really, a superpower that beauty bloggers and models aren’t allowed to have so HA.
What is your skincare routine? I am nosey and just love hearing about what other people do to their faces every morning and night.
