Tea parties top the list of my favorite things. I’m never one to turn down high tea especially if there is a bit of champagne involved. When I was a little girl I remember dressing up and going out to high tea at The Queen Mary’s Tea Room with my Aunt. I loved the mismatched tea cups, lovebirds and frilly lace everywhere. I think I would be quite pleased if Saturday afternoon tea became a weekly tradition.
Yesterday a few of my friends came over for a little afternoon tea to celebrate the 22nd birthday of my beautiful first ever college roommate,Claire. Somehow bite sized cucumber sandwiches make it socially acceptable for four girls to eat an entire loaf of bread.
I hope you enjoyed my explosion of tea party photos. I absoloutely adore any reason to eat sweets and drink champagne in a tutu. My lovely friends were sweet enough to join me for the afternoon and Jefferson even agreed to take a few photos of the event. Happy Happy Happy! If you’ve never had your very own pretty pretty princess tea party I highly suggest it. I also highly suggest experiencing high tea out. I love the high tea at The Queen Mary’s in Seattle, The Fairmont Hotel ‘s Georgian room, 1226 Washington (my family’s restaurant in Calistoga, California) and Tal-Y-Tara in San Francisco.
Have you ever hosted a tea party? What is your favorite way to spend a rainy afternoon?
