Well, well, well…if January 7th hasn’t crept up on us I don’t know what has! It’s already been January for an entire week, meaning for those of us with resolutions we are 1/52nd of the way through accomplishing them (or something like that). In case you’re wondering…I’ve been succeeding when it comes to the drinking more water, but failing when it comes to the “no texting under the influence of champagne”…you win some you lose some. Even more importantly than the fact that today is the 7th is in just 10 days it is the 17th! For those of those of you who don’t know the significance of this very important day, let me take just a teeny tiny moment to explain…
IT’S MY 22ND BIRTHDAY!!!
I think I’m probably more excited to turn 22 than I have ever been to turn any other age and more excited than I ever will be again, Thanks for that one Taylor. Since I will be celebrating via “College Weekend” in Whistler, Canada, I think it’s only appropriate that I order the perfect party dress don’t you?!
Jeff told me I should just reuse one my previous birthday dresses…just let that sink in for a moment. My boyfriend actually thinks I’m the sort of girl who would just re-wear one of her old (previously photographed) dresses on the MOST IMPORTANT birthday of her entire life, sort of cute isn’t it? What sort of message would I send to the world if I wore my 21st birthday dress on my 22nd birthday? What new meaning does that add to the phrase “keep dancing like you’re 22”? Well, I’m all for “recycling” clothing the way US weekly keeps reminding us Princess Kate does, I mean, I wear the same jeans 5 days a week sometimes. By the way should we really be THAT impressed Kate has worn the same outfit twice in two years? I know she’s a princess but really? Okay, but moral of the story: If Birthdays aren’t an excuse for a new outfit and a tiara…well, I don’t know what is.
That being said…I am DESPERATELY in search of the perfect birthday dress. Right now these are my top contenders, what do you think? What would you wear if you were hoping to dance into the wee hours of the night (morning?) like you’re 22 (this joke might be getting old now?hmm…)? Two of these dresses are black and to be honest, I sort of don’t love the idea of wearing a black dress on my birthday. You can wear a black dress any old day so maybe I should pick something more whimsical and exciting for my birthday? Don’t worry, feel free to disregard that I will be celebrating in a freezing cold ski resort town (I totally have).
I’m begging for suggestions, I don’t know where to look for cute party dresses online. I don’t want to spend a fortune. Actually, that’s a lie, I do want to spend a fortune but…rent. Being a grown up is dumb.
Please let me know your opinion/if you have any perfect party dress sites I should check out!
