I decided to start my weekend on Thursday this past week because…why not!?! I could have stayed in and watched Pretty Little Liars all night and slept soundly in my bed but instead I decided to celebrate with a night on the town with my best friend Nicole because we haven’t been out yet since she turned 21 last month which is obviously completely unacceptable.
Haven’t I learned before that going out on a school night is simply not a good idea? Because on Friday morning when I was exhausted and waiting on babies hand and foot I recalled that this sort of morning after experience felt just like the last one meaning that it felt like the ultimate form of self deprecation. Also why is it that I can sleep in a twin top bunk with a girl friend no problem but stick me in a full bed instead of a queen with Jeff and it’s just not happening! Is he just a giant or something? A subject for another day perhaps?? But in the end it was all okay because Friday afternoon I took a three hour nap and was somehow able to muster up enough strength to drive up to Bellingham and visit little Clairey, and spend the whole night dancing like I was 22. Thank you peppermint mocha!
Claire’s little house is like a fairy princess dream house! She lives with two other girls (who are both so cute and sweet) and the whole place just is the perfect college girl house. Nicole and I were gushing about how we just want to be like Claire the whole drive home. We mean it Claire, teach us how to be you next weekend in California okay?! Oh yes, next weekend…California, I’m going! Weee! Be prepared for a photo overload next Monday at this time!
And then all of a sudden it was Sunday Funday which meant studying and coffee with Jefferson. I used to hate Sundays because it meant impending doom of the new week but now I sort of love them. I love relaxing in a local coffee shop, I love snuggling in bed with Boo and I love the Sunday farmer’s market filled with delicious food carts and vintage treasures.
I thought I’d keep it short and sweet today. For those of you that still thought I rambled on a little too much I’ll just pass along the moral of the story:
- Thursday night lemondrops and Friday morning baby watching do not go hand and hand.
- Claire is probably someone you want to be when you grow up (Nicole and I do).
- Sunday funday is a real thing now, not just hashtag sarcasm on my part.
- Naan bread with mango chutney, if you see it…eat it!
