Paris is the iconic city of fashion and romance. The capitol of glamour and the subject of every girly girl’s european fantasies. I am absolutely enamored with French history. In tenth grade AP European history I learned about the French Revolution from my eccentric (and amazing) history teacher, Ms.Morgan. Ms.Morgan was a tough grader and I remember making up a song about the French Revolution to prepare me for the test. It was pretty nerdy but ever since I’ve just devoured french history, I’m a francophile of sorts. And don’t even get me started on French royalty, I’m obsessed with those egotistical divine monarchs.
Needless to say I’ve both day and night dreamed about Paris and the surrounding country. To visit the Louvre and Versailles, Notre Dame, and the Musee d’Orsay and of course the eiffel tower…it makes me giddy just thinking about it. My dream would be to spend several months living in Paris and traveling throughout France as well as other parts of Europe. I can imagine myself working as a nanny to spoiled little French children (well…I should probably learn french first) or interning at a cute little boutique in the city (like I said…the dream can’t really be a reality until I break down and buy rosetta stone or something). The entire idea is just enchanting although slightly whimsical.
What are you day dreaming about on this chilly gray day? Maybe it’s not as chilly and gray for you as it is for me but with the slow coming of fall I can feel myself dreaming more about far off lands and happily ever afters, fall always has that effect on me.
Today I’m participating in the Story of My Life Blogtember challenge and responding to the prompt: “If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world what would it be?”
