There’s nothing better than pouting in your parked car in the middle of a hot summer day to inspire a full on angst music fest. On the same note, nothing says “I’m sorry I was gross teenage boy” to your girlfriend like the gift of an old and unused Itunes gift card found in your childhood bedroom. Such a gift, of course, is sort of like the”if you give a mouse a cookie” effect as it leads to more and more angsty music. Well, the good news is…I stopped pouting because I quickly realized all of the power the itunes card held and I thought “What better way to cheer myself up than reliving the musical genius of my youth?!” In other words I went into a crazy 90s music shopping rage. I’m literally obsessed with 90s music…and according to those little playlists that itunes pre-makes for you, almost half of the music on my little ipod is already 90s music. What can I say? I’m inspired by crop tops and jelly shoes. So I decided to create this:
I’ve pretty much decided I’m not listening to anything but 90s music for the rest of the Summer (with the exception of “Royals” by Lorde because I’m recently obsessed), and obviously Taylor Swift. Everytime I listen to any of these songs they bring my straight back to my childhood. I swear I thought “Kiss Me” was the most romantic song ever written and “Summer Girls” inspired me to invest in some clothes from Abercrombie…you know, to get all the hot guys in my 2nd grade class.
Do you think I’m crazy for obsessing over the nineties? What do you think I’m missing from my playlist?
