The fact that I don’t even know where to begin talking about my 4 day weekend really says it all. I feel as if someone sprinkled fairy dust on my life and it has become one giant party (I’m not complaining).
I kicked the four day weekend off right by spending Wednesday evening out on the town with these cuties:
Laura is my best friend and Garrett is Jeff’s best friends, and you know how I love best friend double dates. We went to a German bar but like magical patriotism, when the clock struck twelve the whole bar began singing the national anthem (because it was officially the fourth of July…duh). Back at my apartment we had a full on sleepover in which I kicked Jeff out of our bed because I wanted Laura to sleep with me instead (Boys with boys, girls with girls, pretty sure that’s in the official sleepover rule book). Also Laura created the best ever oven baked s’more I’ve ever tasted. Dear Laura, Please Come back and make me more.
Thursday, aka the most Patriotic of all American days, started off with a morning walk to Whole Foods and steamed Asparagus for breakfast (this is all pretty irrelevant). After a lazy morning Jeff, Boo and I took the ferry over to beautiful Vashon island to spend the holiday with beautiful, wonderful Clairey and her cutie patootie island friends. I’ve come to the conclusion that people on islands all have crazy nicknames or crazy real names and I absolutely love it and I’m determined to get my own island name one day (I’m thinking Turquoise Unicorn). It was great to meet all of Claire’s friends but it was so hard to keep track considering everyone had their real name (ex. Michael) and their
stage name island name nick name (ex. Slash, Sly,Cousin, Uncle, Ace, Jack, Queen, I don’t even really know, I’ve never had a nick name so I could never truly understand). Claire was about the best little hostess you could ever imagine, she even made her gorgeous little baby sister a picnic dinner for her night on the beach and she even let Boo, the most poopy and disgusting dog in the world stay in her house (for the SECOND time).
Friday afternoon I met up with the most beautiful red headed mermaid sister I’ve ever laid eyes upon and had a little sleepover in her frat house with her. If you invite us anywhere, be forewarned, we will take selfies in the bathroom.
Saturday I went to a little family reunion for Jeff’s family. They’re Italian so there was a lot of food and wine involved. There was also croquet but I was too busy eating to notice or take photos for that matter.
Finally on Sunday I got rid of the unintentional ombre hair that I had been sporting for…I don’t know, the past three months. After looking at hundreds of photos of myself looking like a common street rat I decided it was time to class it up a little bit. The hairstylist probably hated me because my hair is so dead yet I always insist on going blonder without cutting off more than an 1/16th of an inch of my straw like hair. If mermaids can have long bleach blonde hair with no damage…so can I. Then Jeff, Boo and I went on a wilderness adventure filled with lots of bugs, rocks and photos of me drinking juice in the car.
When I have new hair I take too many selfies!
To sum it all up my weekend was amazing. I can’t even imagine how next weekend could possibly even be better, especially considering there will only be two days involved rather than four.
I want to hear all about everyone’s fouth of July weekends and see pictures too! I’m spending the rest of the day working on homework and cleaning up my apartment before Clairey comes over tonight to have a little sleepover with me.
