It’s Monday which means it’s time to talk about my weekend even though I’m in complete denial that it’s over and I am 100% planning on gliding through the next three days pretending it’s one big long sunday until I leave for California on Thursday night.
Let’s skip Friday, since I don’t remember it at all I think it’s pretty safe to assume that nothing particularly exciting happened. I think I worked until 7:00 and fell asleep by 10:00 so that tells you the extent of my excitement party people. Oh wait, I was introduced to Arrested Development…finally. I’ve been in love with Michael Cera since I first laid eyes on his gawky awkward existence in Juno and now I get to witness him at the prime of his awkwardness…puberty. But ew, totally not attracted to him in this show, I’m not a pedophile.
Then on Saturday I woke up bright and early so I could curl my hair to go on a hike because, you know, I have to look cute for the deer and mountains and of course for the massive amount of selfies I was planning on taking with my baby dragoness sister Nicole (you can read all about how perfect she is here).
We hiked Rattlesnake
Ridge Ledge? I can never remember which one. It was packed because it was sunny and a Saturday so everyone and their great aunt twice removed was hoping to soak up some vitamin d. We trailed up the mountain like little llamas in a caravan but it was great because I don’t think Nicole and I stopped talking for even a moment on the way up. Our lives are parallel in every respect at all times. It’s crazy. Do you have any friends like that?
After our perfect little adventure I took Nicole home to her frat because she’s kind of like Mulan and pretends she’s a man most of the time. Just kidding, she’s just living the frat life for the summer. It’s loads of fun because she gets to use their pool and sundeck, it’s also kind of grotesque because…well imagine the bathrooms in the home of several dozen college guys…would you want to shower there? Don’t think I’m judging though because I don’t think Jeff and I have cleaned the shower in our apartment once since we moved in. #sorryimnotsorry
So the rest of our afternoon looked a little bit like this:
We’ve decided to give synchronized swimming a try as we both are natural mermaids, I’ll post a video of our routine after the recital.
THEN as if my Saturday wasn’t magical enough Jeff surprised me with tickets to the ballet.
I got to wear my favorite princess dress and a bow in my hair, that alone would have perfected the evening for me but there was also a bottle of champagne involved which led to super adorable photos of me posing with raspberries on the roof:
It was a fun night and once again I ended up fast asleep by 10:00, just the way I like it.
Sunday morning I woke up bright and early to make breakfast for my Dad and five year old baby brother Dylan. Jeff played Cinderella and helped make our apartment look slightly inhabitable by humans which meant cleaning up the bazillion plastic rainbow colored beads that spilled…I don’t know, three weeks ago? Boo was upset because she occasionally likes to treat the beads as snacks, Jeff thinks it means she’s hungry, I see it as a desperate cry for attention and will have no part in it.
I had an amazing morning with my Dad and brother, breakfast was delicious and Boo and Dylan became unofficial BFFs (I only say “unofficial” because there weren’t any friendship bracelets or necklaces involved…yet). My Dad is moving to California soon so it was great to have him over and spend a little more time with him before seeing him means boarding a plane or a long road trip.
Then I spent the rest of the evening playing hide and go seek with the sugarplum princesses I nanny. Hide and go seek really is the best. I can out hide any five year old, test me, I dare you.
That’s it, that was my weekend! Counting down the days until I’ll be attending the Medieval festival and dressing up as the female version of Robin Hood, pictures will be posted so be sure to check back for a good laugh.
P.S. Sunday was my sorority Big’s Birthday. She is now living in Hollywood because she’s going to be a movie star so I wasn’t able to see her but that didn’t stop me from thinking about how much I love her and miss her.
